ABP Live Auto Awards 2022: Bike Of The Year – Bajaj Pulsar N160
ABP Live Auto Awards 2022 – Bike Of The Year: Bajaj Pulsar N160 is the stripped-down version of the Pulsar N250.
The 2022 Bike of the Year award goes to the all-new Bajaj Pulsar N160. Despite being launched in a competitive space, the all-new Bajaj commuter has disrupted the 160cc motorcycle segment because of several reasons.
This motorcycle is the stripped-down version of the Pulsar N250. In terms of design, this Bajaj commuter looks quite aggressive as it gets a predator-like front end, pointed shrouds on the sides, and a stylish looking back. It gets blacked-out, 17-inch rims, which compliments the overall sporty design language of the motorcycle. It also gets a compact exhaust can, which is placed close to the bike's overall centre of gravity for enhanced balance and handling.
Moreover, We were also very impressed with its performance. The 164cc, single-cylinder engine it gets is quite tractable. This engine has a wide torque band that offers 85 per cent of peak torque over a wide rev range. The 5-speed gearbox it offers has been tuned in a way that it offers smooth and slick upshifts and downshifts. Over our course of testing, we found that this engine is also very refined and reliable, and a person can use it for daily commutes.
Talking about the features on offer, the new Bajaj Pulsar N160 gets a bi-functional LED projector headlamp, which has a good light throw. To give a better idea to the rider about the distance the motorcycle can travel, it also gets the distance to empty readout. Furthermore, near the tank flap, the Bajaj commuter employs a USB phone charging port to offer more convenience to the rider.
Overall, the new Bajaj commuter is a well-sorted package as it looks quite aggressive, comes loaded with a decent amount of features and is powered by a reliable 160cc motor, which is fuel-efficient too. All these points make the Bajaj Pulsar N160 our bike of the year 2022.
