Independent's Ashok Kumar Choudhary (Sadatpur) won Kanti assembly seat in 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections by a margin of 9275 votes. Runner-up Ajit Kumar of Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) bagged 48836 votes. Third position was held by Rashtriya Janata Dal's Md. Parwez Alam while Umesh Paswan of Independent held the fourth spot.
