LJP MP Veena Devi's Son Dies In Road Accident In Bihar, Police Launch Probe

Police stated that the accident took place near Saraiya in Muzaffarpur, adding that the vehicle that hit his two-wheeler was yet to be identified.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP from Vaishali Veena Devi's son Rahul Raj has died in a road accident. During the incident, his motorcycle was allegedly hit by another vehicle in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar on Monday evening, police said.

Police stated that the accident took place near Saraiya, adding that the vehicle that hit his two-wheeler was yet to be identified.

Officers arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the report and transported Raj to the nearest government hospital, where he was pronounced dead. "His body has been sent for the post-mortem and an investigation is underway," Deputy SP Kumar Chandan said, news agency PTI reported.

Andhra Minister Narrowly Escape Accident

In another incident, Andhra Pradesh's Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Gummadi Sandhyarani, narrowly escaped an accident on September 12 when a police vehicle in her convoy struck another vehicle in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh.

The incident took place in Busayavalasa village, Ramabhadrapuram Mandal, while the minister was traveling from Salur to Mentada Mandal for a program.

The crash took place when an Eicher vehicle suddenly entered the main road, colliding with the police escort vehicle in the convoy, according to an IANS report.

Five police officers in the escort vehicle, including Armed Reserve Inspector V. Raman, Head Constable P. Sunil, Constables R. Ganapathy and C. M. Mahesh, and the driver, Constable A.V.V.S.N. Raju, were injured during the accident.

The minister’s vehicle, which was following closely behind, was brought to a sudden stop as her driver quickly applied the brakes, allowing her to avoid injury. Police attributed the accident to the alleged negligent driving of the goods van, as reported by The Hindu.

After the crash, Minister Sandhyarani stayed at the site to oversee rescue efforts and ensured that the injured policemen were transported to Tirumala Medicover Hospital in Vizianagaram.
