Rashtriya Janata Dal's Atri Muni Urph Shakti Singh Yadav won Hilsa assembly seat in 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections by a margin of 26076 votes. Runner-up Deepika Kumari of Lok Janshakti Party bagged 46271 votes. Third position was held by Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation's Shyam Narayan Prasad while Sudhir Kumar of Independent held the fourth spot.
