Rashtriya Janata Dal's Rahul Tiwary won Shahpur assembly seat in 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections by a margin of 14570 votes. Runner-up Visheshwar Ojha of Bharatiya Janata Party bagged 54745 votes. Third position was held by Jan Adhikar Party (Loktantrik)'s Krishna Bihari Singh while Sachin Kumar Gupta of Independent held the fourth spot.
