Top 50: Pakistan formally bans Hafiz Saeed’s JuD and its charity wing FIF
Amid intense global pressure to act against the militant groups after the Pulwama attack, Pakistan on Tuesday formally banned the 2008 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed-led Jamat-ud-Dawah and its charity wing Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation. The two proscribed organisations has been banned by the Interior Ministry of Pakistan under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. They were earlier put on the "watchlist".
The development comes hours after authorities in Pakistan detained at least 44 members of banned outfits, including a brother of JeM chief Masood Azhar.
