Top 100: Ashish Pandey surrenders, sent in one day police custody

Ashish Pandey, son of former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Rakesh Pandey, who was on the run after brandishing a gun at a five-star hotel in Delhi on Sunday, reached Delhi's Patiala House Court today to surrender himself. A surrender application, filed through lawyer S P M Triathi, said that Pandey has been wrongly framed in the FIR and subjected to media trial. It further said he is ready to submit before the court voluntarily and the police may be directed to take him into custody if required.

The court has granted one-day police remand to Ashish Pandey.

Delhi Police had sought 4 days custodial remand. But he has been sent in police custody for a day

Ashish Pandey, whose brother is a BSP MLA in Uttar Pradesh, had pulled out a pistol at Delhi's Hyatt Regency hotel, a video of which went viral on the social media. The assistant security manager of the hotel later on Monday lodged the first complaint with the police.
