War Update: US-Iran Tensions Escalate Amid Repeated Deadlines and Strong Retaliation

The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has intensified as former US President Donald Trump repeatedly issued deadlines to Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz. On March 22, Trump warned Iran to reopen Hormuz within 48 hours or face destruction of power plants. On March 23, he delayed strikes on energy sites by five days, and again on March 26 extended the pause for ten days. Despite these shifting ultimatums, tensions continued to rise. Iran has now strongly responded, rejecting US threats and refusing a temporary ceasefire proposal. The Iranian military warned that any action by the US or Israel would lead to severe consequences, stating that “the gates of hell” would open. Officials also described Trump as desperate and under pressure.
