UN Showdown: Iran Vows Proportionate Response As US, Israel Justify Strikes At Global Forum

The conflict between Iran, Israel, and the United States has now entered the diplomatic battlefield, with a fiery face-off at the United Nations Security Council. Iran has vowed a "proportionate" military response to the US and Israeli strikes on its nuclear sites, stating that the nature, timing, and intensity of its retaliation will be decided by its armed forces. An advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader declared that the resilient Iranian nation has faced more brutal enemies before and will once again prove its strength and dignity to the world.Meanwhile, the United States and Israel strongly defended their actions before the international community. A senior Israeli representative accused Iran of manipulating negotiations and enriching uranium far beyond civilian needs. They thanked President Donald Trump for "removing the greatest threat to global security" and called on the world to recognize the necessity of their military operation.Israel emphasized that inaction would have been catastrophic, accusing critics of silence and complicity in Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Iran, however, maintains that its enriched uranium remains safe and that the airstrikes did not severely damage its capabilities. The rhetoric at the UNSC reflects how deeply divided the international order is—while war rages on the ground, diplomacy is now on the edge of collapse.
