Big Twist: Iran’s Bold Offer—“Open Hormuz First, Talk Later!”

Amid ongoing tensions, Iran has sent a new proposal to the United States regarding the Strait of Hormuz. In this proposal, Iran demands that the U.S. first lift the blockade and reopen the Strait before any discussions on its nuclear program begin. Tehran has made it clear that it is currently willing to negotiate only on terms to end the war, not on uranium enrichment. It has also insisted on maintaining full control over the Strait of Hormuz and has demanded compensation from the U.S. for damages caused during the conflict. In response, the United States has issued a firm statement, calling the talks highly sensitive and refusing to discuss them publicly. Washington emphasized that any agreement will prioritize American interests and reiterated its stance that Iran will not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
