Why Congress chose Charanjit Singh Channi over Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa ?

Charanjit Singh Channi name as Punjab new CM came as a shock for everyone.  Earlier reports stated that Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa will be Capt Amarinder Singh's successor. Channi will be the first Dali-Sikh CM from the state. Now, opposition parties have started calling it a big political move to impress Dalit voters. However, the main question arises that Why Congress chose a lesser-known face to be the CM when they had options for other senior and influential leaders.
