What made China resort to dialogue?

Indian Army's plane landed on an airstrip in Uttarakhand amidst increasing tensions between China and India. India is practising take-off and landing in between the mountains. This has made China resot to dialogue. A high-level meeting was conducted between senior officials of both the countries.
