India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported severe heat in some parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Even the hill stations of Himachal Pradesh are struggling with the scorching heat. There will be intense heat and heat waves throughout North India, especially in Delhi NCR, for the next 4 days... Meanwhile, a report has come out regarding the figures of deaths due to heat waves during the last thirty years. The agency warned of impending heatwave to severe heatwave conditions over many parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and Rajasthan. Heatwave conditions are also expected over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Kutch on May 23.
