TMC wrote to Election Commission alleging that "across several booths in Sitalkuchi, Natalbari, Tufanganj & Dinhata, BJP goons are creating a ruckus outside the booth & preventing TMC agents from entering the booth". TMC has demanded necessary actions from EC.

Meanwhile, to avoid any violence, the Election Commission has made an extensive security arrangement. The ECI has informed that it has deployed 789 companies of Central forces - the highest force concentration in this election so far.
