Varanasi News: 2 Houses Collapse Near Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Rescue Operation Underway | ABP News
In Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, panic ensued after two dilapidated houses collapsed. There is concern that six people, may be trapped under the debris. The incident occurred in the Kashi Vishwanath Temple vicinity, specifically in the area known as Khoya Gali in the Chowk police station jurisdiction. Currently, an NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) team is engaged in a rescue operation at the site. Five individuals have been safely rescued, while the injured have been admitted to Kabirchaura Hospital for treatment. The affected houses were approximately 70 years old. Upon receiving news of the collapse, NDRF and police personnel arrived promptly at the scene. A team from the health department and a dog squad are also present. The rescue operation is ongoing, but it is hampered by the narrowness of the alley. According to Varanasi Commissioner Kaushal Sharma, both collapsed houses were in a dilapidated state and fell due to the recent heavy rainfall.
