Here's What Both Skippers Said During Toss

Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians Captain):

"We are going to bowl first. It's simple reason. Don't know how it's going to play and with the dew around, we will chase. The win last season was on the black soil. We played two games on the red-soil surface before that but ended up on the losing side. In the second innings, the ball does a lot under lights. It was different last season. On black soil, chasing is always a preferable option."

"The preparation has been fantastic. The boys are excited to go. The goal is to back each other and lift someone up when they are down. A happy place. I definitely come back in the side. We will keep the options ready. I think it is about playing good cricket. Do the things which are supposed to be done and if we tick the boxes, we will get the result. And more importantly, enjoy the game."

Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans Captain):

"I think we have batted first plenty of times here so nothing changes for us. We were also looking to bowl first but now we have to bat first."

"Honestly, we want to assess the conditions first and then set a target if we are batting first. If you are bowling first and batting second, it's all about to chase down the target. There were a lot of positives from the previous game. Only the first 3 overs and a couple of overs in the middle phase costed us the game."

"We have got the same team. You might see 1 change in the bowling line-up. (On Jos Buttler at Number 3) Honestly we want to have a LHB-RHB opening combination at the top. Jos has been batting at Number 3 for England as well so nothing changes for him."
