Sandeep Chaudhary's Sharp Questions to Owaisi Over Ticket to Riot Accused in Delhi Election

Ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, the decision of Asaduddin Owaisi’s party, All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM), to field another accused in the 2020 Delhi riots has sparked controversy. The party is set to offer a ticket to Shafaur Rahman Khan, the former president of the Jamia Alumni Association, from the Okhla constituency. Khan, who is currently in jail on charges related to the riots, has now become the center of a political debate. In response to this, BJP spokesperson Sandeep Chaudhary has raised pointed questions, accusing Owaisi’s party of endorsing candidates with controversial backgrounds. Chaudhary has questioned the ethics behind granting political tickets to individuals with serious criminal allegations, adding fuel to the ongoing political discourse. The move is expected to add further complexity to the already heated electoral landscape in Delhi, as both parties and their supporters engage in this contentious debate.
