Pune Bridge Collapse: 2 Dead, 15 Rescued, Several Still Missing In Indrayani River Tragedy

A major tragedy unfolded in Pune, Maharashtra, where a decades-old bridge built over the Indrayani River suddenly collapsed under the weight of over 100 people. Eyewitness reports indicate that tourists and local residents had gathered on the bridge to enjoy the pleasant weather and take pictures when the structure gave way, sweeping nearly 20–25 people into the river’s strong current.According to the latest updates provided to ABP News by Maval MP Shrirang Barne, 15 people have been rescued so far, while 2 confirmed deaths have been reported. Rescue efforts are underway, with two teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at the site. The exact number of missing individuals remains unclear, with estimates suggesting up to 30 people may be unaccounted for.Locals informed that many of those present on the bridge were students or people from outside the region. The flow of the Indrayani River is extremely swift, posing serious challenges to ongoing rescue operations. The collapsed bridge was reportedly in poor condition, raising serious questions about maintenance and safety oversight.Authorities are urging the public to stay away from the area as operations continue into the night.
