MPs give Modi standing ovation for CAB at BJP meet, PM requests one for Karnataka: Pralhad Joshi
Parliamentary Affairs minister Pralhad Joshi told there were two standing ovations at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s weekly Parliamentary Party meeting on Wednesday. The MPs gave a standing ovation to Prime Minister Modi over successful passage of Citizenship Bill in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, while the PM requested another for the party’s performance in by-polls to 15 assembly seats in Karnataka.
"During the meeting, we gave a standing ovation to welcome the Prime Minister. But, the Prime Minister while congratulating Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, state ministers and BJP leadership in Karnataka, he gave a standing ovation to the people of Karnataka," Joshi told reporters on Wednesday after the BJP parliamentary party meeting at the Parliament Library.
