Manmohan Singh Death: How Former PM Manmohan Singh Skillfully Navigated And Resolved The 1991 Economic Crisis That Shaped India's Future | ABP News

Today, the entire nation is paying tribute to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who served from 2004 to 2014. During his tenure, many key decisions were made that not only strengthened the economy but also changed the future of India. In June 1991, when the country faced an economic crisis, Dr. Manmohan Singh took charge of the finance ministry and started implementing crucial reforms. He devalued the rupee to promote exports, dismantled the license raj, and opened up the economy for private sector growth. His policy changes, including raising the FDI limit and industrial reforms, attracted foreign investments. These reforms showed results within months and transformed India’s economy, despite facing significant opposition.
