Karnataka: Major Landslide In Uttara Kannada Leaves 4 Dead, 3 Missing | ABP News
Four people have died and three remain missing after a major landslide struck Uttar Kannada district in Karnataka on July 17. Deputy Commissioner Lakshmi Priya briefed ANI on the situation, stating, "A major landslide occurred in Shirur within Angkola Talloka. Seven people were reported missing. We have recovered four bodies, but three individuals are still unaccounted for." She further noted the deployment of NDRF teams and fire services, with support from the Navy and Coast Guard providing personnel and safety equipment. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is working to clear the road for traffic, expecting completion within 24 to 48 hours, though full excavation will take longer.
