Janhit: Rajiv Pratap Rudy Wins Constitution Club Election, Sparks Political Chatter Across Party Lines | ABP NEWS
A seemingly minor election in Delhi has created major political ripples nationwide. BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy defeated fellow BJP leader and former MP Sanjeev Balyan in the Constitution Club of India election for the post of Secretary. While the contest was internal, the outcome has triggered widespread political commentary and meme storms on social media. Rudy won by a margin of 100 votes, securing 391 out of 707 votes cast. Despite both candidates being from the BJP, the election turned into a political spectacle due to internal rifts. It’s reported that Nishikant Dubey, a BJP MP, backed Balyan, leading to opposition parties and several Bihar MPs throwing their support behind Rudy. This surprising alignment has led many to interpret Rudy’s victory as a setback for BJP's central leadership and a symbol of growing dissatisfaction within the party. Some view it as the return of UP-Bihar political dominance, others as a Rajput consolidation, and some as a reflection of deeper BJP infighting. Rudy, a five-time winner of this post, received congratulatory messages from across the aisle. Opposition parties, ironically, are celebrating his win as their own. The real question now: will this internal BJP rift influence the upcoming Bihar elections?
