International News: PM Modi Reaches Namibia On Final Leg Of Tour, Meets First Woman President

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Namibia on the final leg of his multi-nation foreign tour, marking his first-ever visit to the African nation. This visit is being viewed as a significant diplomatic outreach by India towards strengthening ties with southern African countries.Upon his arrival, PM Modi received a grand cultural welcome at the Windhoek airport, reflecting Namibia's traditional hospitality. During his visit, PM Modi is scheduled to hold a high-level meeting with Namibia’s first-ever woman President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, who assumed office earlier this year. The leaders are expected to discuss deepening bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, energy, wildlife conservation, and defense. The visit also carries symbolic importance as it highlights India’s commitment to enhancing South-South cooperation and forging stronger people-to-people ties with African nations. Modi’s outreach is part of India’s broader Africa policy that emphasizes mutual respect, development partnership, and strategic engagement.Cultural exchanges, possible agreements on renewable energy, and discussions on regional security are likely to be on the agenda. PM Modi’s Namibia stop concludes his diplomatic tour, which has focused on reinforcing India’s global presence across continents.
