As the counting is underway for the election to 182-member Gujarat Assembly, the Bharatiya Janata Party is rallying ahead in the early trends with 125 seats and close to the exit poll predictions. As per the ABP CVoter Gujarat Exit Poll, the incumbent BJP was projected to bag anywhere between 128-140 seats and secure a vote share of 49.4 per cent.
Meanwhile early trends for Congress shows a seat projection of 52 and 4 for Aam Aadmi Party.
The counting of votes began at 8 am for the election held in two phases on December 1 and December 5.
The first phase of polling in 89 Assembly constituencies across 19 districts in the Saurashtra-Kutch coastal region and the southern parts of Gujarat recorded a voter turnout of 60.2 per cent. In the second phase, 93 Assembly constituencies across 114 districts witnessed a voter turnout of 58.8 per cent.
