Breaking: Massive Fire Erupts In Abandoned Coal Mine In Ramgarh’s Rajrappa, Locals Fear Health Crisis

A massive fire broke out on Monday in an abandoned coal mine in Rajrappa, located in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district, triggering panic among residents. Thick, black, toxic smoke enveloped the surrounding area, prompting health concerns for nearly 10,000 people living nearby. Local residents claimed that the poisonous fumes could severely impact their health, especially children and the elderly. Authorities confirmed the incident and stated that emergency teams are assessing the situation. However, locals alleged that such fires have occurred earlier too, and they had previously complained to the administration. Despite repeated complaints, no concrete action was taken, they said. The community is now demanding immediate intervention and long-term solutions to prevent recurring fires and mitigate health risks. The incident highlights ongoing negligence in managing abandoned coal mines, which continue to pose serious environmental and public safety hazards in the region.
