8 Reasons Why Calcutta HC Scrapped OBC Certificates Of 77 Groups | ABP News

The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday cancelled all Other Backward Classes (OBC) certificates issued after 2010 in the state of West Bengal. Nearly 500,000 people are likely to be impacted by this judgment. The court while cancelling the OBC certificates issued to 77 communities barred the state from appointing people from these communities with immediate effect. However, the court said that those appointed so far based on OBC certificates to service of state or are in the process of being appointed will not be impacted by this verdict.

Yogi Adityanath led the UP Government May Review the OBC Quota Reservation for Muslims in UP. It is claimed that more than 24 Muslim castes receive reservations under the OBC quota in UP. According to sources, rules for this were established by the SP government, which may now be reviewed.
