Even when Russian forces escalated the tensions in Ukraine, launched attacks in the country's second-largest Kharkiv on Sunday, Ukraine President Zelensky has agreed for peace talks with Moscow without 'pre conditions'.

“We agreed that the Ukrainian delegation would meet with the Russian delegation without preconditions on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, near the Pripyat River,” Zelensky announced on his official Telegram channel, describing a phone call Sunday with President Aleksandr G Lukashenko of Belarus.

The European Union agreed Sunday to provide some €500 million in arms and other aid to the Ukrainian military as it battles Russia’s invasion, in a move the bloc described as a “watershed moment” in its history.
