Devotees gather in large number for Kartik Purnima in Ayodhya

Some devotees perform the Tulsi Vivah, the marriage of the Tulsi plant to the Shaligram form of Shri Vishnu on this day. Strict security arrangements have been made to avoid an mishap, NDRF teams have also been deployed. It is also known as Tripuri Purnima and Tripurari Purnima. It is sometimes called Deva-Diwali or Deva-Deepawali, the festival of lights of the gods.
