Delhi Police is on the lookout for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan after his involvement in aiding the escape of a proclaimed offender accused of attempted murder. The incident occurred when the Crime Branch arrived at the suspect’s home in Jamia Nagar to arrest him. Upon learning of their arrival, Amanatullah Khan, along with his supporters, reached the location in large numbers, creating a ruckus. During the confrontation, they managed to help the accused escape by causing a commotion and physically intervening with the police. As a result, the situation escalated, and the police had to impose Section 1912 (pertaining to rioting and creating disturbances) on Amanatullah Khan, a non-bailable offense. Delhi Police have since launched a joint operation across multiple areas, including Jamia Nagar, Southeast District, and the Crime Branch, in an attempt to apprehend Khan. He is facing charges for obstructing justice and aiding a fugitive. As of now, Khan remains on the run, and police efforts are intensifying to arrest him. His involvement in this case has raised concerns, and his actions are being scrutinized closely by law enforcement.
