Bangladesh Violence: BSF DG Visits Border to Review Security | Sheikh Hasina

Protests against Bangladesh's quota system continue unabated. Due to the worsening situation, Sheikh Hasina resigned as Prime Minister and left the country on Monday. Reports suggest that violent clashes have resulted in at least 300 deaths recently. India has advised its citizens to avoid traveling to Bangladesh until further notice and urged Indians residing there to stay vigilant and limit their movements. After a coup, the Bangladeshi army, under General Waker-Uz-Zaman, has seized control and announced that an interim government will be established within 48 hours, promising to restore peace. In response to escalating protests, a security alert has been issued along the India-Bangladesh border.
