Know how Indian Railways earned a whopping Rs 900 crore from passengers | ABP Paisa Live

Indian Railways has earned more than Rs 953 crore from passenger revenue. Eastern Railway achieved a growth of 9.97% in revenue from passenger traffic as compared to the same quarter a year ago.  Let us tell you that in the same period of the last financial year it was Rs 866.79 crore. During the period of April-June, 2024, Eastern Railway transported a total of 2,87,654 passengers to their destination, which is 3.36% more than the figure of 2,78,309 passengers of the previous year i.e. 2023. According to an official, the revenue from passenger movement at the Kolkata-based ER increased by 9.97% during the April–June quarter of the current fiscal year compared to the same period last year.

"Passenger revenue for the first quarter of 2024-25 stands at Rs 953.24 crore, compared to Rs 866.79 crore earned during the same period of the last fiscal," a statement from the ER stated.
