Budget 2025: 10 Key Points – What’s Cheaper and What’s Costlier? | ABP News

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has unveiled significant tax relief for the salaried class under the new income tax regime. Announcing a major change, she stated that individuals with an income of up to Rs 12 lakh (approximately Rs 1 lakh per month) will be exempt from paying any income tax, excluding special rate incomes like capital gains. For salaried taxpayers, this limit will be raised to Rs 12.75 lakh, due to a standard deduction of Rs 75,000. "The new structure will substantially reduce the tax burden on the middle class, leaving more money in their hands," FM Sitharaman said in the parliament.
