On the eve of new face-to-face peace negotiations in Turkey on Tuesday, multiple cities in Ukraine remained under Russian bombing as Kyiv and its Western partners sought to end the month-long conflict. The next round of negotiations comes after the Russian army announced that it will begin focusing on eastern Ukraine, a decision that some observers interpreted as a retreat by Moscow. Over 3.8 million Ukrainians have fled abroad as a result of Russia's month-long invasion of Ukraine, which has left thousands dead or injured and isolated Russia's economy.
