Baltic Sea Methane Leak News: The Nord Stream Pipeline Rupture, a natural gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea, is leaking about 23 thousand kg of methane gas every hour. This gas leak is turning into a serious crisis. In Northern Europe, the Baltic Sea is surrounded by land on almost all sides. There has been a stir in Europe due to the gas leak.
This gas pipeline is 100 meters down in the Baltic Sea. The gas pipeline burst on 26 September. After which there have been many explosions in it till now. Satellites from space have also taken pictures of the impact of the gas pipeline burst.
Baltic Sea ecosystem may be destroyed!
It is feared that the explosion of the Nord Stream pipeline and the resulting gas leak could destroy the ecosystem of the Baltic Sea. Russia is being accused of bursting this pipeline. It is alleged that Russia exploded the pipeline to disrupt the supply of fuel to European countries.
According to the information, 22,920 kg of gas is leaking every hour from the Nord Stream pipeline. Which is equivalent to burning 2 lakh 85 thousand kg of coal. Methane gas is believed to be responsible for about a quarter of global warming.
