₹5 Extra For Water? IRCTC Staff-Passenger Spat Caught On Video — Internet Can’t Decide Who’s Right
A video of a purported IRCTC staffer overcharging passengers for water bottles is going viral.

Ever wondered why corruption thrives in our country despite 'everyone' around us being opposed to it? A video has come to the fore, which points to what's known as "crab mentality" and seems to explain this. If one person opposes corruption, others will try to bring him down.
In a video going viral on social media, an Indian Railways staffer and a passenger can be seen arguing over Rs 5. The passenger claimed that he was charged extra. The bottle seller, who took Rs 20 for the bottle said that he was entitled to Rs 5 extra because he was working hard. The passenger, who claimed to be a social media influencer, said the government was paying the bottle seller and he could not take a "service charge" from the passengers.
As the two were arguing, other passengers butted in and slammed the passenger instead of calling out the corruption unfolding in public. One of the co-passengers said, "If you don't want to pay extra, don't buy." Another said: "He's working hard. You can surely pay him."

Internet Divided
It was not just the train passengers. A section of X users also said that he should have paid. "People can pay Rs 100 tip, but don't want to pay Rs 5 extra."
However, all is not lost in the country. Some X users backed the passenger and pointed out that this is the reason why corruption is rampant. "Look at all the replies, People are blaming the guy for not giving Rs 5 extra. No wonder there's so much corruption in this country," a user identifying herself as Aarchi wrote on X.
Another user called for intervention by Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to curb such malpractices.
An X user compared the bottle seller to model Uorfi Jawed, saying: "You’re delivering dialogues quite well! Just come to Mumbai while selling bottles, clear one audition, and a direct entry into Bigg Boss is guaranteed. After that, your acting career will be set automatically, like Urfi Javed [sic]."
A user identifying as Jagdish Choudhary said it was a failure of the social system in India. "Who is wrong who is right, it’s complicated. Definitely it’s a failure of our system," he said. Overcharging is everywhere — from online marketplace to highway dhabas, one will face this issue, he said. "Why someone will pay extra ?? Jaise subah kaam pe jate hai aur ped pe paise lage hai aur tod ke le aate hai aur pay extra everywhere. Emotions should not win everywhere," he added.
Who is wrong who is right, it’s complicated. Definitely it’s a failure of our system. He is saying “ Pad nahi paye isliye Pani bech rahe hai , to kisne roka padne se garib bhi officers bante hai
