Alphonso Mangoes Available On EMI In Pune, Seller Launches Unique Scheme To Make Them 'Affordable'

A mango seller identified as Gaurav Sanas from Pune has offered to sell Alphonso mangoes on EMI from Sunday. Anyone from Pune can buy these premium mangoes for Rs 600-1300 per dozen using credit and debit cards without burning a big hole in their pockets. The mango seller has done this to make Alphonso mangoes, which come at an exorbitant price, affordable for buyers. Sanas has also done this in order to make profits as the mango markets were left crippled over the last 2-3 years because of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

Alphonso mangoes, which are also known as Hapus, come very expensive as they are world-famous for their unique and different tastes, aroma, and high quality. This makes Alphonso mangoes a premium product, which is high in demand also because of its exquisite taste among multiple varieties of mangoes. Alphonso mangoes prices are usually much higher than other kinds of mangoes.

Speaking on the offer, mango trader Sanas, said, " After Covid, it was seen that people were losing interest in Alphonso due to its high price. So we started this scheme of giving mangoes on EMI in order to bring back the customers. They can get it on EMI through credit cards and debit cards," reported news agency ANI.

He further said, "The price of mangoes at my shop ranges between Rs 600-1300 per dozen." Sanas said his shop will be the first to sell mangoes on EMI in the entire country.

When refrigerators, ACs, and other appliances can be bought on EMI, then why mangoes can not be purchased on EMI, he asked.

The buyer will have to pay the amount in different installments in three, six, or twelve months as per their convenience. However, the EMI scheme is only available for people who would mangoes at least for Rs 5,000 and above it.

Interestingly, he has already gotten four customers who would buy mangoes on EMI, reported Hindustan Times.
