Fan Offers King Charles A Burger King Crown, Watch How He Reacts

As King Charles and his wife Queen Consort Camilla were greeting people gathered to see them, a royal fan took off his Burger King crown and tried to hand it to King Charles.

King Charles faced an embarrassing moment on his state visit to Germany on Wednesday. He was  strolling by the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin when they came across a group of people wearing paper crowns given away by the fast food giant Burger King. As King Charles and his wife Queen Consort Camilla were greeting people gathered to see them, a royal fan took off his Burger King crown and tried to hand it to King Charles. 

However, King Charles politely refused the paper crown and said, "I am alright" and kept moving through the crowded streets, greeting fans.

The video of the incident went viral after being shared on social media. "King Charles was offered a paper crown, in the first official state pledge to Germany today. At the Brandenburg Gate, he was met by supporters wearing ‘Burger King’ crowns who offered it to the king," read the caption of the video shared by Twitter user @cariolisima.

Meanwhile, King Charles became the first monarch to address German parliament, the Bundestag, on Thursday which included a meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Charles and Camilla, the queen consort, will visit Hamburg on Friday to pay respects at a memorial to the Kindertransporte, or children’s transports, which saw more than 10,000 Jewish children rescued from Nazi Germany 85 years ago. They will also commemorate the more than 30,000 people — most of them civilians — killed in the Allied bombing of Hamburg in July 1943, reported the Associated Press.

The 74-year-old King Charles succeeded his mother Queen Elizabeth as monarch of the United Kingdom and 14 Commonwealth countries upon her death in September. However he is yet to be formally crowned.
