Bengaluru Man Walks 12 km To Reach Home Amid Traffic Chaos, Post Goes Viral

Office-goers, and even students were caught in the jam on Outer Ring Road (ORR) of Bengaluru for hours.

A long weekend and bandh called by farmer bodies against the release of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu caused massive traffic jam in Bengaluru city on Wednesday. The Outer Ring Road (ORR) is where traffic congestion was the heaviest, as commuters reported being stuck for over five hours.

Office-goers, and even students were caught in the jam on ORR for hours. Many netizens took to social media to share their horrific experience to travel a distance of a few kilometres.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, a man shared how his friend could not get any transport and had to walk almost 12 kilometres to reach home.

''My friend walked 12Kms back home in Bangalore today. He wasn't getting any cabs/autos/rapido or anything else. Quality of life even for top 1% after having all the means is only hitting lows & lows in this city," read the caption of the post shared by X user named Tushar.

Since being shared the post has amassed close to 2 lakh views, 1,797 likes and tons of comments.

"Still faster than sitting in a cab with bumper to bumper traffic," commented one user on the post.

"His office need’s to give him 2 days wfh in recognition of his supreme sacrifice and also for his fitness employee of the day for sure," wrote another user.

"Looks like your friend faced traffic even while walking. Typically 12 kms at a normal pace can be done in 120 - 140 mins," commented a third.
