Bengaluru Driver Loses Cool After Passenger Asks Him To Turn On AC | On Camera
An X user named Dr. Atharv Dawar while travelling in Bengaluru found himself in a heated argument with a cab driver after requesting the air conditioner (AC) be turned on.
A video is going viral on social media where a passenger engages in a heated argument with a cab driver after requesting the air conditioner (AC) be turned on.
The passenger, named Dr. Atharv Dawar, while travelling in Bengaluru documented the entire incident on his phone and later shared it on his X (formerly Twitter).
In his post, Dawar recounted the sequence of events that led to the argument. In his social media post, he claimed that he was initially reluctant to enter the cab because it was dirty and the AC wasn't working, however, he added that he decided to board. After the journey started, he requested the driver to turn on the AC, which sparked a disagreement.
He expressed his frustration, writing on his social media handle X, "Since everyone is forming an opinion let me share the context here- 16sec video is 1st followed by the other video. I refused to sit in his friend’s Indica as it didn’t have AC and was filthy. Then I sat in his car and he talked to me in Hindi only."
"But the moment I asked him to Turn on the AC he got charged up. Listen to him responding in Hindi AC nahi hai. It’s not about language here it’s about arrogant and irresponsible persons using the Kannada language as a smokescreen to continue scamming gullible people who travel to BLR for work," he added.
Since everyone is forming an opinion let me share the context here- 16sec video is 1st followed by the other video. I denied to sit in his friend’s Indica as it didn’t have AC and was filthy. Then I sat in his car n he talked to me in Hindi only. pic.twitter.com/CeNhOuN5J0

Netizens Response
The video received mixed reactions after going viral. While some agreed with Dawar's position on the value of providing decent service, others emphasised the need for drivers and passengers to respect and understand one another regardless of language barriers.
One of the internet user wrote, " It's a scam only if the booking is for AC car and he took such booking and refused to switch on. Yes, his arrogance is objectionable. But his words are 100% true it's Karnataka and here only Kannada works."
"It's pure gundagardi by hiding behind the local language," another wrote.
The next netizen said, "He clearly said no AC, has problem but customer still asking what is problem? etc. So he lost his cool. He is not using Kannada as smoke screen as u claim. Do taxi drivers in Delhi &North India speak English or Kannada? It is surprising video being recorded before asking!!"
