Telangana CM KCR Delighted Over Environmental Clearance For Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme

The Chief Minister is pleased that the lift project received clearance, as the first stage of work has reached the final stage and is now ready for the next phase.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has expressed happiness over receiving environmental clearances to the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme from the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) of the Union Environment Ministry. The Chief Minister is pleased that the lift project received clearance, as the first stage of work has reached the final stage and is now ready for the next phase.

CM KCR stated that this is a delightful moment, as these clearances will accelerate the second phase of works, providing irrigation water to 12.30 lakh acres in the erstwhile Rangareddy and Mahabubnagar districts.

The CM further added that this is another historic victory for Telangana, demonstrating the state's ability to overcome challenges and secure clearances. Apart from project construction, Telangana has once again proven its unmatched ability to obtain permissions, a testament to the government's commitment, the CM emphasised.

The chief minister congratulated the engineering officials of the Irrigation department for their hard work in obtaining the environmental approvals for the Palamuru lift scheme and mentioned that the time has come to provide Palamuru citizens with river Krishna water soon.

Meanwhile, state minister and BRs working president K.T. Rama Rao congratulated the farmers of the erstwhile Mahbubnagar and Rangareddy districts.

"Tenacious efforts of Hon’ble CM KCR have paid off and now the much awaited Palamuru - RR lift irrigation scheme will be completed on a war footing," he tweeted.

The Environmental Clearance (EC) was recommended by the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) at its 49th Meeting held in New Delhi on Thursday. The EC was recommended to the project duly stressing on the adherence to applicable standard EC conditions. The State irrigation department had submitted a proposal for grant of environmental clearance for PRLI scheme (Phase II) in Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy & Nalgonda districts.
