The incident occurred after a group of hikers were trying to make their way back from the waterfall, but couldn’t cross as the water level had risen due to the incessant rainfall. SP Alam said that they were in constant contact with tourists and told them to stay away from any streams and stay on higher ground until rescue workers reach them. They were also advised to save their mobile batteries so that they can be contacted.
