IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall In Parts Of Andhra, Telangana Over Next Five Days. Check Full Forecast

The IMD has predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places over the north coastal region of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam from July 17 to July 21.

The Amaravati Meteorological Centre has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over the north coastal region of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam from July 17 to July 21. The met department has also predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places over the north coastal parts of the state, Yanam (which is a part of the Union Territory of Puducherry), and the south coastal region of Andhra Pradesh in the next five days.

In a press release issued on Monday, a Meteorological official stated that a cyclonic circulation was likely to form over the Northwest Bay of Bengal within 48 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, a monsoon trough at mean sea level is currently passing through Bikaner, Sikar, Orai, Sidhi, Ambikapur, Balasore, and extending southeast to the east-central Bay of Bengal.

Meanwhile, the low pressure over west Jharkhand, adjoining north Chhattisgarh, and north interior Odisha has weakened and is now less prominent, the official said.

The Hyderabad Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places in the districts of Adilabad, Kumrambhim Asifabad, Manchiryala, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityala, Rajanna Sirisilla, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Wanaparthi, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, and Yadadri Bhuvangiri districts of Telangana from Monday to Tuesday morning.

Additionally, from Tuesday to Wednesday, there are chances of heavy rains in Mancherial, Nirmal, Adilabad, Warangal district, as well as Nizamabad, Rajanna Sirisilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Sangareddy, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, and Medchal Malkajgiri districts from Wednesday to Thursday.

On Sunday, Kottapalle in Mancherial district received 115 mm rain, while several places in Bhupalpally, Mahabubnagar, Nirmal, Jagtial, Mahabubabad, Hanamkonda districts received rainfall above 40 mm, reports said. Some locations in Hyderabad city received less than 2 mm of rainfall on Sunday.
