Instagram Threads Gets New Bonus Programme For Creators. Here's Everything You Should Know
According to Meta, invited creators will have customised criteria for bonuses.
Meta-owned Instagram Threads social network recently surpassed 150 million monthly users, and now, whithout showing any signs of slowing its growth momentum, the company has launched a limited-time bonus programme for creators on Threads. In a bid to boost engagement, the company is introduing this new initiative. The social networking giant has confirmed to by TechCrunch, the existence of a limited-time, invite-only programme for creators, which commenced testing in March.
According to Meta, invited creators will have customised criteria for bonuses. Currently, the programme is exclusive to Threads creators in the US, with the social media giant expressing potential plans for expansion into other regions pending its success.

As per Meta's support page, it has been outlined that invited creators must create a public Threads profile and adhere to Instagram's creator incentive terms and regulations for bonuses on Instagram. The company clarified that the performance of Threads posts, such as views, and the quantity of posts are among the criteria for creators to qualify for bonuses.
"At this time, we’re testing bonuses on Instagram. Bonuses are opportunities for creators to earn money directly from Instagram. Instagram may offer specific bonus programs to creators by invitation only for a limited time with availability in different countries. Please note there is an element of random selection due to the nature of product testing. We will announce when we are ready to offer public eligibility for a bonus program," Instagram wrote on its support page.
"As we test and learn, we may end bonus programs. You will be notified if the bonus program you are testing will end. You will remain eligible to test other bonus programs in the future," the company added.
Additionally, there are specific guidelines outlining which posts qualify for the bonus programme, as per the social networking giant.
For instance, one requirement stipulates that a post must garner a minimum of 2,500 views. Furthermore, Threads posts containing copyrighted material, lacking text, or benefiting from boosted views will not be eligible for bonuses. Meta also emphasises that content should not feature watermarks from other platforms like TikTok or YouTube.
Moreover, posted content should not be part of a brand partnership agreement.
