Google News Down For Desktop, iOS, Android
Google News is currently down on its desktop site as well as its iOS and Android devices. While there are claims that Google Search is also impacted, we have not been able to verify this personally. Notably, Google has not yet released an official statement behind the cause of the worldwide disruption.
Some reports also suggest that Google Discover was also hit by an outage at the same time, today, May 31.
Outage detection website Downdetector's page read: "User reports indicate possible problems at Google. Google is the world's largest search engine. The firm also offers the Gmail e-mail service, the video hosting platform Youtube, Google maps, Google Talk and the Google+ social network. Google develops the Chrome browser and the Android software for smart phones including the Google Play store for mobile apps, as well as the Adwords and Adsense advertising platforms."
Meanwhile, search geek Barry Schwartz posted on X, formerly Twitter: "Google News tab is bugging out for some, so if you see less traffic from Google Search's news tab today, this might be why https://seroundtable.com/google-news-tab-not-returning-results-37486.html."
