New Delhi: Handset maker Realme is set to unveil the Realme GT 2 Pro in India and also introduce three world premiere innovation forward technologies globally on December 20 (next week), the company confirmed on Tuesday. Realme GT 2 series is the most premium flagship from the brand and with the launch, Realme intends to step ahead into the global high-end market and explore leading technologies.

Earlier in November, Realme had confirmed the name of its most premium flagship smartphone and said the device will be called Realme GT 2 Pro. This comes almost two weeks after the smartphone player announced its foray into the premium handsets category. Realme also made the announcement on its social media handles.

"Realme GT 2 series is the most premium flagship ever, and Realme intends to step ahead into the global high-end market and explore leading technologies," the company said in a statement.

The smartphone OEM has already announced it will unveil a flagship device with the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset on December 20. Chip-making giant Qualcomm had unveiled its next-generation premium 5G chipset for flagship Android devices, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 at the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2021 on December 1.

Realme's foray into the high-end flagship smartphone market will see it compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S series, the Mi Ultra and the flagship OnePlus devices, among others.

Madhav Sheth, Realme Vice President and President of Realme International Business Group had earlier indicated towards a possible launch of Realme GT 2 Pro in December. The device has also been reportedly spotted on benchmark site AnTuTu with a score of more than a million.
