Smartphone maker Realme has announced that it will announce the world's fastest smartphone charging technology, what it calls 125W flash charging technology, at MWC 2022.
New Delhi: Smartphone maker Realme has announced that it will announce the world's fastest smartphone charging technology, what it calls 125W flash charging technology, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022. Being one of the first brands to launch the 125W flash charging technology, the company will also unveil its flagship Realme GT line at the MWC.
The smartphone maker's current fast charging technology is the one launched last year which is the 125W UltraDart charging tech. The ultra-fast charging technology never made it to a mass-produced commercial device though. The company's flagship Realme GT 2 Pro features charging speeds of 65W.
The company has also announced that under its "Go Premium" strategy, it will invest 70 per cent of research and development (R&D) resources in introducing breakthrough innovation, of which fast-charging technology is a key component. Realme also mentioned that it believes the new charging technology will break current barriers and will enable users to charge their smartphones in a much shorter period of time.
The company has not revealed further details about its upcoming charging technology, but according to a report published in Gizmochina, a live image of a 200W Realme charger has surfaced. Along with the report, a Realme adapter in white colour with the model number VCK8HACH can be seen with power ratings that maxes at 200W output.
Meanwhile, another smartphone OEM that may break the innovation threshold with its breakthrough charging tech is Xiaomi. The company is working to introduce a 150W fast-charging technology for smartphones that could debut with the Mix 5 smartphone later this year, according to reports.
