Meta Quest 3 Vs Apple Vision Pro: 'Apple Made A Huge Tradeoff...', Says Mark Zuckerberg
Meta Quest 3 Vs Apple Vision Pro: Meta Quest 3 was launched in October 2023 at a price point of $499.99, and it positions itself as a compelling alternative to Apple's Vision Pro
The battle between Meta Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro continues. In the ongoing battle, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg once again pitched his product and defended his company's product against the criticisms surrounding Apple's high-resolution Vision Pro. Zuckerberg on Threads said that the resolution of the Apple Vision Pro is higher, but the iPhone maker paid for that with many other product tradeoffs.
He added, “I don’t think we’re saying the devices are the same. We’re saying Quest is better. If our devices weigh as much as theirs in 3-5 years, or have the motion blur theirs has, or the lack of precision inputs, etc, then that means we’ll have regressed significantly. Yes, their resolution is higher, but they paid for that with many other product tradeoffs that make their device worse in most ways. That’s not what we aspire to.”
Meta Quest 3 was launched in October 2023 at a price point of $499.99, and it positions itself as a compelling alternative to Apple's Vision Pro. Despite the latter's impressive features, including two OLED displays with a total of 23 million pixels, Apple's M2 chip, 12 cameras, five sensors, six microphones, and Siri integration, Zuckerberg still argued that a huge price was paid for these enhancements.
He concluded by saying that Facebook's product is better than Apple's "period."

A few weeks back, he compared Meta's newest VR headset, Quest 3, and said, “I don't just think Quest is the better value, I think Quest is the better product, period.” He also said that he filmed the video using the Quest 3's passthrough camera and then went on to highlight key differences between the two devices.
He praised the Quest 3 for its light weight (120 grams lighter), wider field of view, flexibility of both physical hand controllers and hand tracking offered.
