Google Pixel 6a, Pixel 4a Officially Start Getting Android 13 Update In India: Details

The newly-launched Google Pixel 6a and 2020's Google Pixel 4a have started officially receiving the Android 13 update in India.

The newly-launched Google Pixel 6a and 2020's Google Pixel 4a have started officially receiving the Android 13 update in India. It should be noted that once updated, users would not be able to go back to Android 12 OS on their smartphones. Also, users of the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro smartphones in India should also be getting the official Android 13 update.

According to some reports, several users have reported of facing glitches post the Android 13 update. It should also be noted that Google while announcing Android 13 OS earlier this year had mentioned that the latest Android OS would arrive only on the Pixel 4 series and later. This also means that the users of Pixel 6a and Pixel 4a in India should be able to receive the Android 13 update by going to the software update section of the device via Settings and download the latest Android OS as an over-the-air (OTA)  Software Update.

Meanwhile, several Google Pixel users have reported on forums like Reddit about facing issues on their phones such as no wireless charging support after the Android 13 update. The issues were also reported on models such as the Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro and the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL models too. However, the Pixel 3a, 4a and the Pixel 6a cannot have issues as they do not support the wireless charging feature.

Meanwhile, the Google Pixel 6a has had a rocky launch as several units are having major security issues, according to some initial reviews. Last year's Pixel 6 series had also encountered issues with fingerprint sensors and this year's new Pixel 6a is said to have this major security flaw. According to a post published on r/Android a few weeks back, two different videos on YouTube elaborate on the Pixel 6a's fingerprint scanner to prevent unregistered users from accessing the device.

The first YouTube video has been posted by YouTuber Geekyranjit, who said to have unlocked the Pixel 6a with two of his thumbs, despite having registered only one thumb's fingerprint as security.

Another video by Beebom is far more concerning that shows that several people who did not register their fingerprints were also able to unlock the Pixel 6a with ease.
