In India, the iPhone maker has partnered with Frank Water to expand access to safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene.
The two biggest smartphone makers Apple and Samsung have been taking sustainability seriously for the past few years and have been ramping up efforts to support sustainability and also protect the environment. With clean energy in focus, Apple on Thursday joined hands with New York-headquartered non-profit venture capital (VC) firm Acumen for supporting social entrepreneurs to scale their businesses as well as protect the environment. In India, the iPhone maker has also partnered with Frank Water to expand access to safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene.
The tech giant has also joined hands with the Applied Environmental Research Foundation (AERF) to preserve mangroves along India’s west coast. To recall, Apple has a 2030 goal to be carbon neutral for every product. More than 250 global manufacturing partners -- including 12 operating in India -- have already committed to 100 per cent renewable energy for all Apple production by 2030. All final assembly sites in India have achieved zero waste as well.

Programming is set to begin in September of this year and it is open for social enterprises — businesses with a clear social or environmental mission — working to advance sustainable energy solutions for small businesses and farmers in India, through July 24.
