'Won't Allow Any Ideology To Enter Schools': TN Minister Anbil Mahesh After Video Shows RSS Training In School

Chennai: The government will not permit any ideology to enter schools, said Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi on Monday. According to a report on New Indian Express, the Minister said that some people sought permission from school management to clean the premises before the school reopening after quarterly exams but they (RSS cadre) also took a pledge after the cleaning.
He said, as per New Indian Express, "They (district administration) have assured that such an incident would not happen again. The government is determined that no ideology should enter schools.”

Moreover, the Minister also instructed chief educational officers to pay more attention to corporation schools even though they are managed by civic bodies. He said, the issue was discussed at a meeting with CEOs and they said that the members did not provide any training.
He also said that he is taking efforts to ensure that schools are not affiliated with any ideologies.

On Monday, Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Prathap said that they are probing the incident. He said that they do not provide permission for social, political and religious events in schools.
The Commissioner also sent a show-cause notice to the headmasters.
Meanwhile, a police officer said that the RSS cadre entered the school without the consent of the officials. Following a complaint, the RS Puram police have also registered a case for allegedly trespassing in the school.
Earlier, news reports said that RSS mulls on conducting small shakhas in the hinterland including Coimbatore in order to make their hold bigger in Tamil Nadu.
